Kick off the holiday season with Canton’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration which will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton, MI.
Join in the festivities from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. as Santa and his reindeer make a special stop in Canton. Starting outside at 6 p.m., enjoy holiday carols, watch Santa’s arrival, and countdown with Canton Township Supervisor Pat Williams for the official lighting of the tree, sponsored by Toll Brothers, which will be held outside the Summit’s Banquet Center Entrance.
Outdoor festivities will also include the Canton Chills Ice Carving Competition, which will be held outside the Summit, where individuals can vote for their favorites with donations that will benefit designated local charities.
Special festive activities will also be held indoors, including additional refreshments and seasonal entertainment.
Activity wristbands will be available at the door for $3 per child for Canton residents and $4 per child for non-residents and include: cookie decorating, arts and crafts, holiday shows, and a visit with Santa. For those who would like to get a jump start on some holiday shopping, stop by the Holiday Marketplace, located in the Summit Banquet Lobby, where you’ll find unique items that will make perfect gifts and stocking-stuffers. This year’s Marketplace vendors include: Bead It - wreaths, home decor, wooden palet art; Bill's Folly - vintage lamps; Bobilin Honey; Bow Wow K9 Tasty Treats; Canton Creative Works - photography and portrait art; Don't Worry Bead Happy – jewelry; Geiser-Weaver Associates - American doll clothing and accessories; The Green Lily - hot/cold packs, and body scrubs; Goanna Paper Art - one of a kind greeting cards; Kristie's Kreations - hand sewn scarves, mittens, baby clothes; Lighthouse Soaps and Scent; Minfly Creations - decorative pillows; Treat the Dog; Valganics - bath soaps; and more!
