[ARCHIVED] "No Child Without A Christmas" Giving Campaign Underway In Canton, MI

This holiday season, the Canton Goodfellows are teaming up with Canton Leisure Services to help make things brighter for needy families in the Canton community with its "No Child Without a Christmas" campaign.

A special Magic and Comedy Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 5 at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the main stage show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Presented by McCabe Funeral Home, this annual fundraiser will included pre-show entertainment, silent auction, and a cash bar. Enjoy the comedy and magic of Dana Daniels, who will team up with his Psychic Parrot Luigi, for a night full of incredible magic and family-friendly laughs. Tickets are $30 per person and include refreshments and soft drinks.

A Holiday Food Drive will be held at Holiday Market, located at 520 South Lilley Road in Canton on: Friday, November 18 from 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, November 19 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 20 from 12 – 4 p.m. Suggested non-perishable food items include: can goods, rice, macaroni and cheese, noodles, pasta, soup mixes, coffee, powdered juices, cereal, cookies, crackers, jars of gravy, bread mixes, and other dry goods.

“So many families are already struggling to make ends meet throughout the year, so holidays can be an extremely difficult time of the year for them,” said Recreation Supervisor Jon LaFever. “Any donation and gifts from area residents make a huge difference in bringing joy to their lives during the holidays.”

Donations of new and unwrapped toys will also be collected from November 17 through December 5, 2016 at several Canton Leisure Services locations, including: the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway; and the Canton Administration Building, located at 1150 S. Canton Center Road.
