[ARCHIVED] Canton Farmers Market to Host Pre-Thanksgiving Harvest Market

“The Harvest Market is an opportunity to select local items for your Thanksgiving table, as well as all your Market favorites,” Canton Farmers Market Manager Tina Lloyd said. “We’re excited to offer a bounty of local options, just in time for Thanksgiving!”

Featured vendors at the Harvest Market will include: Agricola, Bobilin Honey, Cakes by Penny, Cellar Door Soap, Classique Bakes and Gifts, Farmington Soap WorksGood Times Kettle Corn, Grace Savory & Sweet, intu Specialty Tea, Jen's Gourmet Dressings, Kapnick Orchards, Lula Bre's Sweet Eats, Parran's Greenhouse & Farm, Paw-la's Pantry, Prochaska Farm, Pure Pastures, Qais Truck, Sansonetti Sauces and Steinhauser Farm.

Lunch at the market will be provided by Qais Truck, known as Detroit's First Farm to Table Food Truck using all locally sourced ingredients. Be sure to try some of their amazing Mediterranean takes on your favorite dishes. Plus, Chef Paul Penney will be cooking a fall recipe with seasonal produce.

In anticipation of the event, shoppers can stop by the final regular Farmers Market of the season on Sunday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pre-order turkeys and a variety of desserts to be picked up at the Harvest Market.

Market vendor Pure Pastures will be offering turkeys from Garno Farms in Blissfield. Turkeys are available for $3.99 per pound and are 15 pounds and up, free range, chemical free, non-injected and very fresh.

Desserts can be ordered with a $5 deposit and include options from Classique Gifts & Bakes, Cakes by Penny and Grace Savory & Sweet. Pre-ordered sour cream cinnamon pecan coffee cakes from Cakes by Penny will be offered for $12 for a 7-inch cake or $20 for a 10-inch cake. Grace Savory & Sweet is offering vegan, gluten-free pumpkin pies at $5 for an individual 4-inch pie or $20 for a 9-inch pie. Classique Gifts & Bakes will also offer traditional sweet potato pies and pumpkin pies at $5 for an individual pie or $15 for a full-sized pie.
