February 2, 2016, Canton, MI – Yesterday, 26-year old Canton resident Damon Ross Davis, Jr., was arraigned in 35th District Court on one count of Bank Robbery and one count of Robbery Armed, both punishable by life or an term of years.
The Canton Police Department arrested Davis, Jr., following a comprehensive investigation which included the assistance of the Michigan State Police and the Western-Wayne Community Response Team, a multi-jurisdictional task force that provides resources to participating agencies working large cases.
Chief Judge Michael J. Gerou set Davis, Jr.’s bond at $1 million (10% percent), with a preliminary exam date of February 19, 2016.

January 14, 2016, Canton, MI – Today at approximately 9:15 a.m., Canton police officers responded to a reported bank robbery at Citizens Bank on the corner of Ford & Haggerty Roads.
The masked man pictured in the attached surveillance photograph entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding cash and a vehicle. After the teller refused to comply, the suspect exited the bank, removing his mask and heading south on foot. Officers continue to search the area with the assistance of a K-9 unit.
The suspect is described only as a skinny white male, approximately 6’ to 6’3” in height.
No weapons were visible, and no injuries were reported.
