As they begin their fall rehearsal season, they are looking for new members of all skill levels to join their volunteer group. In the band of about 30 people, about 10 of the original members still remain.
Musicians are needed in virtually each section (other than flutes) including: percussion, clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe, bassoon, French horn, tenor and baritone saxophone, trumpet, tuba, baritone horn and trombone. The band rehearses weekly at Village Theater, Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00p.m. Annual dues are $25. Christmas, Spring and Halloween performances are held at the Village Theater. In addition to the big seasonal concerts, the band performs at various community and neighborhood events throughout the year and offers some smaller ensemble opportunities.
The band is pleased to announce that Jim Blough, founder the band in 2003, has recently returned to Michigan and is again directing the band after a 3 year absence while working in California.
