Canton's Village Theater To Feature Glassworks & Photography Exhibition - April 2014

Canton, MI – April 1, 2014 - For over 30 years, Michigan has celebrated the rich tradition of glass making and craftsmanship during the month of April. To mark this occasion, The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is set to open a new exhibition, entitled "Beauty Beyond Nature," which will run April 1-30, 2014 in the Gallery@VT.

This unique exhibit will feature glass orbs and columns created by Paul Stankard, an internationally revered glass artist, currently on loan from the Robert M. Minkoff Foundation. Also sharing their life work and experiences throughout the month will be photographic artists: Ron Farina of New Jersey, Dennis Krukowski of New York, Bernie Meyers of Utah, Dave Chmielewski of California and Ron DePentu of Canton, MI.

A special artists' reception will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road, Canton, MI 48187. The public and in particular students are encouraged to attend this free event and meet this talented artists.

The Canton Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage also invites the public to a special lunch buffet and panel discussion by these glasswork and photography artists during the 4th annual Canton Acts of Culture Week. This special presentation and luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The menu will include: Chicken Marsala, Wild Rice Medley, Rigatoni Pasta Rustica, Dill Glazed Carrots, Caesar Salad, Rolls & Butter and Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.cantonvillagetheater.org. This special event is sponsored by Meijer of Canton, Atchinson Ford, and Health Alliance Plan (HAP).

This extraordinary glassworks and photography exhibit at the Gallery@VT is free and open to the public: Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; during public performances at the theater; and by appointment by calling 734/394-5300. The Gallery@VT is closed on holidays.
