[ARCHIVED] Emergency traffic order issued related to Canton's Liberty Fest activities

June 2, 2015, Canton, MI – In accordance with the Uniform Traffic Code for cities, townships and villages, R28.1127, Rule 127, the Director of Public Safety has issued the following traffic order as related to the Canton Liberty Fest:

Due to expected heavy traffic for the Canton Liberty Fest scheduled for June 18-20, 2015, and an evening fireworks display at Heritage Park located on Canton Center Road, Canton, Michigan, the Director of Public Safety in accordance with the Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships and Villages, R28.1127, Rule 27 orders:

Effective Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 10:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., Canton Center Road between Cherry Hill and Palmer Roads will be closed.

Effective Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 8 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., Summit Parkway will be closed from Canton Center to Glengarry Blvd.

In addition, effective Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., the following roads will be closed to through traffic for the Liberty Fest Run:

• Southbound Canton Center at Palmer
• Northbound Canton Center at Rouge River bridge
• East and westbound Summit Parkway
• Southbound Sheldon at Woodmont East
• Northbound Sheldon south of Rouge River bridge

This order will remain in effect until Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:30 p.m.
