[ARCHIVED] Canton's Village Theater To Feature 'Pieces of Life' by Mosaic Artists of Michigan Members

This unique exhibit, featuring a wide variety of mosaics that run the gamut from representational to abstract, from 2-D to sculptural, will be on display now through April 29, 2015 in the Gallery@VT. All manner of materials are used from the traditional to the unexpected. Included in the display are wall mosaics, which are mounted to a vertical flat surface that are 2 dimensional panels, bas relief panels, or wall sculptures.

Mosaic Artists of Michigan's featured artists, include: Penny Collins, Joan Schwartz, Ski, Linda Drinkhorn, Joette House, Renee Spears, Shonda Bottke, Sue Majewski, and Marilyn Willingham.

Established in 2003, the Mosaic Artists of Michigan set out to share, educate, and promote the resurgence of fine art mosaics. Each member's work is unique with a style of its own, as the art of mosaic presents a world of endless possibilities in color, texture, shape, and expression.

Many of Mosaic Artists of Michigan members have achieved recognition in the art community from solo and international juried exhibits, publication in mosaic and other art books and magazines, and public and private commissions. As an art organization, Mosaic Artist of Michigan embraces all achievements in the artist's journey, from beginner to professional. This mosaic art exhibit at the Gallery@VT is free and open to the public: Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; during public performances at the theater; and by appointment by calling 734/394-5300. The Gallery@VT is closed on holidays.
