Summit On The Park To Provide Free Lending Sled Library

With the snow expected in the future forecast, Canton’s Summit on the Park is bringing back its ‘Lending Sled Library’ that offers passersby a chance to borrow a sled for a spin down a small hill to then return it when they are done.

The ‘Need a Sled – Use a Sled – Have Fun’ set up is located at the east side of the Summit on the Park, Canton’s premier recreation center, located at 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton, MI  48188. A small sledding hill is adjacent that offers a quick little run next to the stand.

“We’re excited to once again offer free access to these snow sleds, where anyone can walk by and use a sled to enjoy a few minutes playing in the snow,” said Canton Recreation Supervisor Laura Mortier. “It was great to see little ones enjoying the sledding on the Summit’s small snow-covered hill last year, and we're hoping families will create memories of some great outdoor winter fun again this year.”

A sign at the sled stand points out that sledding hills are completely unsupervised, uninspected, and ungroomed, so those who use the sledding hills are doing so at their own risk. In addition, children must be supervised at all times and all sledders must watch out for the safety of others.
