DIA Inside|Out Replicas Now On Display In Canton Through November 2022

DIA Inside Out Web Spotlight featuring Monet's "Rounded Flowerbed"

The Detroit Institute of Art’s Inside|Out program returns for its thirteenth year with a unique display of five high-quality reproductions of great masterpieces on display in the Canton community now through the end of November 2022. 

These replicas featured throughout the Canton community include well-known pieces such as: “Love Flight of a Pink Candy Heart” by Florine Stettheimer on display at The Village Arts Factory, located at 50755 Cherry Hill Road; “Violinist and Young Women” by Edgar Degas on display at the Summit on the Park Community Recreation Center, located at 46000 Summit Parkway; “A Day in June” by George Wesley Bellows on display at the Canton Public Library, located at 1200 S. Canton Center Road; “Talking Oak” by William Maw Egley on display at the Cherry Hill Fountain Square, located at the intersection of Cherry Hill Road and Independence Road; and “Rounded Flower Bed” by Claude Monet on display at Preservation Park,  located at 500 N. Ridge Road. 

“These Canton locations are a perfect backdrop for featuring these five wonderful art reproductions,” said Elli Fassois, Canton’s Village Theater Exhibit Coordinator.  “We are thrilled to participate in the DIA Inside/Out program through November to give area residents and visitors to Canton a chance to engage with and learn about these replicas and the history that each piece represents.”

The Detroit Institute of Arts, located at 5200 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit is home to over 60,000 works of art and is known as one of the premier art museums in the United States. The DIA’s Inside|Out program, which is sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, remains a popular component of the DIA’s community engagement efforts. Over the past 13 years, the Detroit Institute of Arts has partnered with more than 100 communities and engaged tens of thousands of residents with art in places where they live, work and play.
