The Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway, offers open swims, open gym time and recreation events to help families have a fun and active winter.
“With recreation opportunities for the whole family, the Summit can help you beat the winter doldrums and keep seasonal lethargy at bay,” Summit Coordinator Jason Lombardo said. “Whatever the size of your family or the schedule of your week, you can stay active in the winter months at the Summit.”
One upcoming family event is the Wet and Wild Pool Games, to be held 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17 at the Summit Aquatic Center. This event features a fun and challenging night of games in and around the pool and is free for Summit member families, $10 for Canton resident families and $15 for non-resident families. Registration ends on February 16 and space is limited.
The Summit also provides open gym time throughout the week. Check summitonthepark.org for hours and availability.
Beginning February 23, the Summit Aquatic Center will offer daily open swim times:
• Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m.
• Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m.
• Fridays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
• Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30-5:30 p.m.
Another option for families with younger children is Bartlett’s Boot Camp, a weekly 25-30 minute parent/child fitness class that is appropriate for children ages 2-12 and their parents. Bartlett’s Boot Camp takes place Tuesdays in the Summit gym from 6-6:30 p.m. and encourages movement and healthy habits while having fun in a family atmosphere.
Bartlett's Boot Camp is followed by family open gym time from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesdays. The class is free for Summit members and $5 per child for non-members.
