[ARCHIVED] Still Got It Players Present “Heaven Help Me” at Canton’s Village Theater

The Spotlight Players’ senior citizen group, Still Got It Players, will present the hilarious comedy, “Heaven Help Me,” in the Biltmore Studio at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill from May 17 – 20, 2018.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.cantonvillagetheater.org, in person Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., or by phone by calling 734/394-5400.


The hysterical plot tells the story of the three surviving Holloway brothers, who are facing a dilemma! Their string of casual eateries are losing money and in order to save the family business, oldest brother Sam wants to sell the only remaining joint property, a valuable waterfront house in Rockaway Beach, NY. The problem is, everyone in the family seems to have something to say about it. From brother Rollie, who wants to pay off loan sharks, to sister-in-law Martha, who needs money for an upcoming divorce, this funny family dilemma will have you laughing as the story unfolds. Of course, what family drama wouldn’t be complete without a deceased brother who is haunting the place on top of it all? 


There will be a meet and greet with "Heaven Help Me" playwright, Joe Simonelli at the Friday evening performance at 7:30 p.m. on May 18,  and both Saturday performances at  2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. on May 19. Joe Simonelli is an American playwright, who first began his career as resident playwright for the First Avenue Playhouse. His plays have been delighting audiences, since the late 90s. His titles range from dark and very humorous comedies, light musicals, ghost stories, Christmas Plays, and dramas.


Spotlight Players "Still Got It Players", have performed three of Mr. Simonelli's plays, "Old Ringers", "The Haunting of Billop House", and "Men are Dogs".


The cast of “Heaven Help Me” includes; Jonathon Williams as Rollie Holloway (Canton Township), Sandy McCay as Rita Romano (Canton Township), Russ Thomas as Kevin Holloway (Belleville), Frank McCay as Sam Holloway (Canton Township), Philip Lukasik as Fred Halloway (Livonia), and Charlette Nance as Martha Holloway (Northville). 


“Heaven Help Me” runs May 17 – 20, 2018, in the Biltmore Studio at The Village Theater in Canton, Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday performances at 2 p.m..


Schedule:

Thursday: May 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Friday: May 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday: May 19 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Sunday: May 20 at 2 p.m.


Tickets can be purchased for $15 - $18, and printed at home or held at will call, anytime from our website www.cantonvillagetheater.org at no extra charge.  The box office is open between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. weekdays.  Tickets can also be ordered over the phone, 734/394-5300 x3, with a Visa or MasterCard weekdays between the hours of 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  If tickets are available, they can also be purchased one hour prior to Program Time.
