Volunteer and Scholarship Opportunities
Vaccine Clinic Volunteers Needed
Canton Township, in partnership with local providers, is hosting several Vaccine Clinics. If you are at least 16 years of age and interested in volunteering, we encourage you to sign-up. All volunteers must have a current volunteer application on file with the Township.
- Volunteer Shifts Available (HTML): please note, shifts are tentative based on vaccine availability. Additional shifts may be added in the future; check back regularly for updates.
- Adult Volunteer Application (18+ years)
- Youth Volunteer Application (16-17 years): anyone 16-17 years volunteering and interested in receiving the vaccine must have an adult guardian present or available by phone at the time of vaccine.

- Time: 7:30 am-3:30 pm
- Please dress comfortably and pack a lunch
- All volunteers and visitors must wear a face mask and follow all safety guidelines.

MOM TO MOM SALE
Event Date: Saturday, May 15, 2021
Shift Times: 6:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Brief Description of Event: Gently used children’s items will be sold at the Mom To Mom Sale. The event will be held outdoors in the west parking lot at the Summit on the Park. This is a more physically demanding volunteer opportunity. Volunteers must be able to setup and move tables and lift items onto carts.
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do:
• Setup and move tables in the west parking lot.
•Help sellers unload their cars and take sale items to their assigned table.
•Assist guests by taking purchased items to their vehicle.
•Help sellers pack unsold items and load their cars after the event.
Attire/Special Instructions: Casual attire, athletic shoes are recommended. You will be on the go.

Brief Description of Event: All Canton volunteers are requested to attend at least one volunteer training per year. Staff will discuss Canton Leisure Services policies and procedures, event information, customer service expectations, and emergency information.
Volunteers should attend, if they have not come to a prior training session and would like to volunteers for the following events:

Volunteer Training
Canton Township volunteers are required to attend training a minimum of one time per year. The training provides volunteers with information about upcoming events, customer service, and emergency preparedness. All registered volunteers will be emailed of upcoming volunteer training dates.
Meals on Wheels and Pheasant Run Golf Club Volunteers
For positions requiring driving, volunteers must submit a Michigan Driving Record Check form, in addition to the Volunteer Application for Adults. Please complete sections 3 and 5.

Scholarship Opportunities
When financial circumstances create a barrier to participation, Canton residents may be eligible to apply for a Canton Leisure Services Scholarship, which can be applied towards Leisure Services classes and programs. Recipients may receive up to $500 per individual in a calendar year.
Please note that children currently in foster care and residing in Canton are also eligible for up to $500 in financial support in a calendar year. Formal documentation will need to be provided.
