January 31, 2017, Canton, MI – The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) is providing residents with an opportunity to comment on how to advance police-community relations in their community. Canton Public Safety officials are encouraging all residents to participate in this unprecedented, statewide opportunity to express their thoughts, concerns and ideas in a constructive manner.
“I am confident our residents have ideas on how to enhance public trust and confidence with our police department. We plan to take an active role working with the MCOLES commission in reviewing and implementing constructive suggestions in our community,” said Canton Public Safety Director Joshua Meier.
The short, anonymous survey will be available online now through March 20, 2017, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ExeDir2016-2
The MCOLES survey is being conducted as part of an Executive Directive issued by Governor Rick Synder requesting MCOLES to submit a report to his office that addresses public trust in law enforcement across the state.
