SPECIAL YARD WASTE COLLECTION INFORMATION


Due to the high winds experienced this week, GFL Environmental will hold a special one-week curbside pickup of residential yard waste next week.  Please note, this special collection will only take place March 13-16. Regular collection of yard waste will not begin until Monday, April 3. 

Only twigs, branches, brush, and wood debris tied with heavy twine into bundles no longer than three feet, not exceeding 1 ½ inches in diameter, and weighing no more than 50 pounds will be collected. Residents are advised to limit bundles to no more than six.  

Yard waste should be placed out on your regular collection day next week. This special collection is only for the small debris such as twigs and branches left by the high winds.  GFL will not remove large trees from resident’s property. If residents have large trees that have fallen on their property, they will need to a contact a tree removal service.

All refuse, recycling, and yard waste questions and concerns should be directed to GFL Environmental USA Inc., at 866/772-8900. If after speaking to GFL and your concern is not resolved, please call Public Works at 734/397-1011 ext 0.

GFL is open on scheduled Fridays from 10 am - 4 pm for RECYCLING ONLY (plastics, paper, cardboard, tin, glass, etc.) and scheduled Saturdays from 8am - 4pm for recycling and Canton Clean-up. Please see Canton Clean-up Guidelines for acceptable items.

Please prepare all materials properly for speedy, efficient pickup. Proper packaging will help to cut costs to residents and reduce injury to the sanitation workers. Thank you for your cooperation.

Single Stream Recycling 

Recycle
GFL Environmental USA Inc. offers single stream curbside recycling (SSR) to all residents. SSR is more efficient and allows residents to recycle more products with less effort. Canton would like to thank all residents for helping to conserve our precious natural resources.

Simple Recycling

Simple Recycling is a for-profit recycler committed to offering residents the easiest way to keep usable materials from the landfill. The program is free of charge and simple to use. Click here for a complete list of what will be accepted.

Can be purchased at the Canton Treasurer's office located on the first floor of the Canton Administration Building.

Curbside Pickup of Residential Yard Waste


Begins the first full week in April and continues until the first week of December. All yard waste should be placed separately from your trash and recyclables on your regular trash day.
